The story of the child and his/her family.

The family lives in a village called Racecourse. The father passed away last year while in hospital. He was suffering from Cholera. The mother does some casual jobs of washing clothes in the neighborhood. She is the sole breadwinner of the family. Her first born daughter is married. She has three children that she is educating. Her resources are very much strained by the much responsibilities she has.

The observation of the child and his/her family.

Fredrick is a young and strong boy. He is hardworking and likes playing football. Since he joined the new school he has made quite a number of friends and is happy. He has a good relationship with the mother and the other siblings in the house.

Intervention plan

The family of Fredrick is united and has a good relationship. The mother being a single parent and has no stable job gives her a lot of pressure in trying to provide for the children. However, she gets a lot of encouragement from her children. Fredrick is a young and talented boy. He is bright and performs quite well in his studies. AVSI has been of great support for his education and welfare. It is of great importance to continue supporting him to achieve his dreams and be a better person in life. The mother also needs to be empowered to do something sustainable to be able to support her family more. Any assistance will be highly appreciated.
